Contacting The Joanna Project

Since its beginning in 2005, the beach house portion of the Joanna Project has grown every year. We usually work with established groups, such as religious congregations, whose members have dedicated their lives to the challenging missions of helping the ill, the dying and the less fortunate.

As mentioned earlier, our guests, among others, have included the Dominican Sisters of Hawthorne, the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm, the Sisters of Mercy of North Carolina, the Sisters of Charity of New York, the Little Sisters of Jesus and Mary, the Daughters of Charity, the Nashville Dominicans and representatives of Breakthough Urban Ministries of Chicago. We try to add a new group or two every year and in the past few years we have had a full summer schedule.

We usually limit the number of people who use the property to a maximum of four at any one time. They must be able to get themselves to and from the Outer Banks. Since we neither request nor receive any funding for this project, we ask that our guests take good care of the house and give it a thorough cleaning before they depart.

If you have any questions or wish to suggest a group who has members you feel would fit what we have described, please send an e-mail to: JoannaProject@comcast.net.

Please give us some background on the group and we will get back to you.

Thank you for your interest in The Joanna Project.
